I wrote you a letter
with words I couldn’t say,
then folded up the pages
and tucked them all away.
I wrote about the memories,
the moments we once knew,
the things I never told you,
the things I felt for you.
But you may never read it,
and maybe that is right—
some words are meant for paper,
not every heart can hold them tight.
So here’s my final goodbye,
the one I couldn’t say—
I’ll carry what we once were,
but I'll leave you in the past tonight.
