Lately, I've realised
that I love roses.
The pink ones,
the white ones,
and the red—
the red ones are my favourite.
Whenever I see them,
I feel this sudden urge
to buy them,
to gift them
to the people I adore and love
as deeply
as the colour of their petals—
that intense, blood-red hue.
But I guess I'm afraid.
What if, like petals,
they too slowly fade from my life?
What if the love I pour into them
is thrown away
like the thorns left behind
on the stem?
And so, I fear
watching something so beautiful
tragically disappear.
Still,
there's this desperate wish—
to gift someone
a single red rose,
without wondering
about all the what ifs.
