If the moon could remember the nights we cried,
The dreams we buried, the words we denied,
Would it still shine so gently above?
If the moon could remember the betrayals we went through,
The people we forgot, the souls we forgave,
Would it still be as pleasant as it appears to be now?
If the stars could speak of the wishes we made,
Of the promises broken and the memories that fade,
Would it still show us the way through the darkest paths?
If the wet petals from the darkest nights felt like the wet skin from tears,
The pain from losing things while learning to love,
Would it still feel as soft as they do now?
Perhaps, I know the sky would whisper one day,
“Not everything lost has truly gone away.”
