Fate always felt too fragile a thing to trust when it came to you. And so, if nothing else could hold us together, I would weave a red string from my own arteries and tie it around our hearts. Perhaps, when the universe tries to tear us apart, I would bleed myself dry just to keep the string taut. Because I know that if you ever saw the trail of blood I had left behind, you would run to me, for sure. You wouldn't let me bleed alone.
